Come meet the fun loving residents at Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary (mindysmem.org). Currently there are 48 residents. They range in age from Beasley, who arrived on 4/12/03 at only 11 months old, to Muggsy, who is 40 years old, and comes complete with arthritic fingers, age spots, a sagging chin and wrinkles. Some were beloved pets, petstore displays, research subjects and one who was being smuggled into Canada from Moracco. Some arrive as infants needing to be bottle fed, others have never seen the outdoors or another monkey before. Many of them would have been euthanized if it were not for a sanctuary like Mindy's, where all will live out the remainder of their lives in peace, just being monkeys.
