3. Old-growth tree in unit 67
This tree is in the proposed Lemolo timber sale. It could be cut and sold, it could be cut and sold because it is in the middle of a road, it could be girdled (killed by starvation) because the loggers cut down near-by wildlife trees, or it could blow over after it's lifetime neighbors are cut and sold. One way or another, it's life if in danger. It is likely over 600 years old. The decision on what to do with the tree will happen spring, 2002.
