Clearcut forest, unit 4
This half of unit 4 has been
"yarded" (logs have already
been pulled up to the top),
and all that is left is "slash"
(limbs and tops of trees).
Lone Rock Timber ran in
and clearcut this during the
temporary reprieve from
environmental protections
for salmon. Even after the
protections were reinstated
on December 14 2001, they
kept on logging until January
3rd. This is just a
small part of the 328 acres
of clearcuts the Tribe has
planned for their new land.
