Album Title:
Missybelle at Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary

Description:
Missybelle is so happy with her non-human primates at the Sanctuary. Missybelle had grown very bored and depressed just being with human primates. She had no other monkey to groom or be groomed by. I don't think our mutual grooming was what she was looking for. She is now among her fellow primates and they groom each other all day long and cuddle together at night. She's so much happier and healthy now. Mentally and Physically. Please if your thinking of getting a primate for a pet please think twice. Missybelle was raised with us from when she was 7 weeks old till I was lucky enough to be able to send her to Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary when she was seven years old. We could never domesticate her she was a wild animal and was not happy being confined to a cage and being entertained by humans. She became extremely agressive even though we were the only family she knew she still attacked us at times because she is a wild animal and it's instinct. So take it from someone who experienced it first hand and tried everything. You cannot raise a wild animal in captivity and all be happy. It was and still is heart breaking for our family because Missybelle was part of our family, but we needed to be fair to her and let her be with her own kind. She is as happy as any primate could be in captivity. She is in an extremely large cage with access to a heated indoor house with her cagemates Phoebus and Sunshine. Please if you love primates don't make the same mistake I and many others have by trying to domesticate a wild primate. You can sponsor a monkey at Mindy's Memory Primate Sanctuary. I talk by e-mail almost everyday to Linda the director of the sanctuary, and she updates me on all the activity. We also have visited and were so pleased with Missy's care. We will be visiting again in the fall. You can visit the website on line and give a donation. You can also view pictures and histories of the other primates.
